Summer School
Summer School at Emory is the perfect opportunity to get ahead and prepare for the next step in your academic career. Many undergraduates use the summer to complete GERs, pre-professional or major requirements, explore a course in an area of interest or possible major, or prepare for study abroad.
During the summer, Oxford and Emory students' academic experience is enhanced by the presence of visiting students from other colleges and universities.

Summer Learning Opportunities
Maymester
Maymester is comprised of courses shortened into a three-week format, allowing students to earn credit and pursue other summer opportunities. Due to the compressed timeline, additional summer courses can only be pursued during the second summer session.

2024 Application Closed. ENVS 375/BIOL 375: Tropical Marine Ecosystems will explore coastal and near-shore tropical marine ecosystems, including mangroves and coral reefs. Study away in the Florida Keys for 7-10 days. Application for permission required.
Maymester Study Away – Race & The American Dream
IDS 351W: Race & The American Dream investigates literature and events of the 1920’s through The Great Gatsby. Study away in Montgomery, AL for three nights. Application for permission required.

Returning undergraduates not enrolled during the previous spring term must contact the Office for Undergraduate Education and apply for readmission at least one month before the beginning of the summer term.
Oxford College students who wish to enroll in Emory Summer School should meet with their Oxford academic advisor to plan their schedule and complete any required academic registration forms.
Visit Oxford Academic AdvisingFirst-year or transfer students should meet with their academic advisor before summer enrollment and should notify the Office of Admission in writing at least one month before the start of the session they plan to attend.
Course Changes And Cancellations
Course offerings are subject to cancellation or change depending on low enrollment or needs of the faculty. Students will be notified at the earliest opportunity if one of their courses is changed or canceled. If a course is canceled, students will have an opportunity to enroll in another available course.
